Introduction

In December 2011, Tata Institute of Social Sciences set up the School of Vocational Education (SVE) to provide instant and definite interventions to improve the lives of the disadvantaged and marginalized youth, especially who are omitted by the formal school education system, through proper vocational training programmes. It has been established up with a idea of creating an ecosystem that would bring back the self-worth of labor for blue collar streams of work and create supportable sources of income. This project has been initiated under the guidance of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) suggested by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Introduction and Course Objectives

A Software Project is the complete process of software development from prerequisite gathering to testing and maintenance, carried out according to the implementation practices, in a definite period of time to achieve proposed software product.

In view of Elliott (2004) the systems development life cycle (SDLC) can be measured to be the first formalized practice context for building information systems. The idea of the SDLC has been "to pursue the development of information systems in a very thoughtful, structured and disciplined way, demanding each stage of the life cycle–from demand of the idea to supply of the final system–to be carried out strictly and chronologically" within the context of the structure being useful.
